Tragedy in Lagos: Mack Truck Topples on Nissan Car, Instantly Killing Female Passenger

In a heart-wrenching tragedy, a fully-loaded 40fts Mack articulated truck lost control and toppled onto a Nissan Car (ABJ 692 BG) in Lagos today, crushing the rear of the car and instantly killing the female passenger. Miraculously, the car’s driver escaped unscathed.

The Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department at LASTMA, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed that the driver of the Mack articulated truck, along with his assistant, known as a motor-boy, fled the scene immediately after the fatal accident occurred.

LASTMA’s initial investigation into the fatal accident has revealed that the driver of the 40 ft fully-loaded Mack articulated container was speeding when the truck experienced a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a moving Nissan car along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near the N.N.P.C inward Alapere in Ogudu, Lagos.

Mr. Olalekan Bakare Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, issued a stern warning to all motorists, particularly truck drivers, to refrain from speeding on Lagos roads. Mr. Oki stressed the importance of conducting thorough safety inspections, including a check on the braking system, prior to embarking on any journey within or outside the state.
