President Tinubu has strongly criticized the NLC’s decision to strike just nine months into his administration, calling it ‘unacceptable.’

Tinubu also said the NLC  do not speak for all Nigerians

These remarks were  made at the inauguration of the Lagos Red Rail Line project on Thursday,

President Tinubu advised the NLC to wait until 2027 to participate in the electoral process, rather than engaging in disruptive actions now.

He said, “I am standing before you clinging to that hope, assuring you that Nigeria will be out of economic problems. We just need to persevere.

“The labour union should understand that no matter how much we cling to our freedom and rights, to call forth strike between nine months of an administration is unacceptable.

“If you want to participate in the electoral process, wait until 2027. If not, maintain peace. You are not the only voice of Nigerians.”

In response to the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians, the NLC had announced a two-day nationwide strike. This announcement was reported by PurpleWorld, a leading news source.

However, NLC suspended the second day of the strike and gave the Federal Government a 14-day ultimatum to meet the demands outlined in its letter.
