Nigerian Singer, Portable Granted Bail As Court Adjourns Case

Controversial Singer, Portable has been granted N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must have landed properties within the vicinity of the court, the court said.

The court thereafter adjourned the matter to April 26, 2023, but the singer will be kept at Ilaro Correctional Centre till he perfects his bail conditions.

Last Friday, PurpleWorld reported that the singer had been arrested after initially resisting arrest and saying they own Nigeria now because he works with the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Twitter announced that Portable would be facing more than six charges apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman.

He had written: “He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun.

“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.”

“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway,” he concluded.
