Mohbad’s Toxicology Result Out, Pathologist Begins Analysis: Fans Await Answers in Musician’s Death Mystery

The U.S.-conducted toxicology test to ascertain the cause of Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad’s d**th, has been successfully completed. This news comes as a relief to those seeking answers in the wake of the young Nigerian musician’s passing.

The Lagos State counsel, Oluwaseun Akinde, reportedly confirmed to a coroner’s court in Ikorodu that the external autopsy of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, had been completed, while the toxicology test focused on his internal body. The test, which was conducted in the United States, was initiated to determine the exact cause of Mohbad’s death, which remains shrouded in mystery.

An official from the Lagos State government, speaking anonymously to a correspondent from Punch, revealed that the toxicology test results from the United States were delivered to the state’s DNA and Forensic Centre last week.

“The toxicology test is ready and given to the police. We projected 10 weeks from the outset but it came in before then. It was received by the DNA and Forensic Centre last week and has been sent to the police,” Punch quoted the source.

An insider source within the Lagos State Police Command, speaking to Punch on the condition of anonymity due to a lack of authorization to speak with the press, corroborated the receipt of Mohbad’s toxicology test results. The anonymous source affirmed that the police department has received the results, potentially paving the way for a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing. With this new information in hand, the police are expected to intensify their investigation, working towards a resolution that may offer some closure to the grieving family, friends, and fans of the late musician.

Mohbad died at the age of 27, on September 12, 2023, with circumstances surrounding his death sparking controversies on social media.

His death led to the arrest of Naira Marley and controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, among others.

The singer’s body was on September 21, 2023, exhumed for autopsy.
