Residents of Dormanlong Bridge in Fadeyi, Lagos, expressed their fear and frustration as an oil tanker overturned in the area, spilling engine oil and disrupting traffic.
A video posted on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority’s X social media account shows local residents rushing to collect oil from a tanker that had overturned in the area. The video shows the residents using buckets and kegs to scoop up the oil, creating a chaotic scene.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has stated that emergency response teams are on the scene and working to mitigate the effects of the oil spill. Authorities are urging residents to avoid the area until the situation is under control.
