In a shocking revelation, former Chelsea midfielder Geremi Njitap has filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years after a DNA test proved that he is not the biological father of their twins. The news comes as a surprise to many, as Geremi and his wife had always presented a united front and appeared to be a happy family.
Geremi and Toukam Fotso Laurie Verline, daughter of late Cameroonian billionaire Fotso Victor, married in 2012, four years after she gave birth to twins in 2008.
According to a report from Mimimefoinfos, Geremi, 45, has claimed that his wife’s twins were fathered by her ex-partner, and not by him.
In addition to the paternity issue, Geremi also cited his wife’s refusal of intimacy as a reason for the divorce.
In addition to the allegations of paternity fraud, Geremi Njitap has also alleged that he has been subjected to verbal mistreatment by his wife, including insults and degradation. Court documents describe her behavior as ‘destructive’ to the harmony of their marriage, and claim that she has made repeated false statements. Additionally, the documents state that there have been no children born from the marriage.
