Kaduna State Government Announces Release of 287 Schoolchildren Abducted in Chikun

The Kaduna State Government has announced that 287 schoolchildren abducted from Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area have been released. This news comes after the children were taken from their school by terrorists few weeks ago.

In a statement released by Governor Uba Sani on Sunday, the Kaduna State Government announced the release of the kidnapped schoolchildren. The statement stress that the government would continue to work towards the safety of all citizens.

The statement partly read, “I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released.

“Our special appreciation goes to our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for prioritising the safety and security of Nigerians and particularly ensuring that the abducted Kuriga school children are released unharmed. While the school children were in captivity, I spoke with Mr. President several times. He shared our pains, comforted us, and worked round the clock with us to ensure the safe return of the children.”
