Armed Kidnappers Abduct 10 Students in Delta State

Armed men reportedly abducted 10 students on Friday as they were traveling along the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident has sparked fear among the local community, as it’s the latest in a string of kidnappings in the area.

In a statement released by the State Police Command Spokesman, Edafe Bright, the police have confirmed the abduction and are currently investigating the incident. A team of officers has been deployed to the area to search for the gunmen and ensure the safe return of the students.

“Gunmen have abducted 10 students travelling along the Evwreni axis of the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.

“The Command is aware of this ugly incident, and we are doing all it takes to ensure that they are rescued unhurt,” Edafe wrote. 

The students were returning home from their school in Cross River State when their bus was stopped by gunmen. The assailants forced the driver to stop the vehicle and proceeded to kidnap all of the students, except for the driver who managed to escape unharmed.

The identities of the students and the school they attended have not yet been made known as at the time of filling this report.
