“Drop of water makes an ocean, we are not waiting to be able to do something massive before we embark on the project of awakening fellow youths across the country, as we consider it to be long overdue. If we are chose one or two ways to make this country great, it would hasten the development we’ve always wanted – foreign national won’t be here to fix the ruins, we the youth all have an obvious social responsibility” GOVERNMEND chairman stated.
The Northern unit of GOVERNMEND Nigeria was led by the Chairman of the group, Ajewole Olasunkanmi, alongside Mr. Olukoya Solomon and other members of the unit visited St. Peter’s College to give a talk on political apathy, vote buying, nation-building, the essence of political participation and the consequences of political apathy to the staff and students of the school.
As elections draw closer, Governmend within its limited capacity is doing everything necessary to ensure that people participate, and are conscious of their choices. Part of its programs is the distribution of writing materials to school students, education to mitigate political apathy and series of virtual programs that may impact a wider audience.
While speaking with the team, members maintain that this would be one of the schools expected for political education within the North Central before and after elections.
