Reuben Abati, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has criticized Seyi and Yinka Tinubu, sons of President Bola Tinubu, for what he views as their excessive presence at the presidential villa. Abati described the siblings as ‘jobless invalids’ who are taking advantage of their father’s position to enjoy access to the villa.
Mr. Abati questioned the career paths of the president’s children and urged them to focus on establishing their own careers rather than relying on their father’s position. He suggested that it was inappropriate for them to be so heavily involved in the villa’s activities at their age. He stressed that they should pursue meaningful endeavors that do not rely on their father’s influence.
Mr. Abati also expressed sympathy for the wives of the president’s sons, who he believes may be embarrassed by their husbands’ lack of professional pursuits and financial independence. He suggested that the wives may feel that their husbands are not living up to the standards of masculinity and self-sufficiency that society expects from men.
