A harrowing tale of terror emerged in Oyo State, as armed kidnappers waylaid a 14-seater bus and its unsuspecting passengers, including RCCG Pastor Olugbenga Olawore.
The RCCG pastor, Olugbenga Olawore, was returning from a trip to Ipapo town to prepare for his mother’s burial when tragedy struck. Unbeknownst to the cleric, armed kidnappers lay in wait at the Maya axis of Lanlate-Eruwa Road, ready to pounce. In a terrifying turn of events, the kidnappers intercepted the bus carrying the pastor and several other passengers, seizing the vehicle and its occupants and vanishing into the night.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the heart-wrenching incident to journalists on Saturday. In a statement, Osifeso verified that a 14-seater bus carrying passengers, including the RCCG pastor, Olugbenga Olawore, had been abducted by unknown assailants along Lanlate-Eruwa Road in the Maya axis.
Osifeso revealed further that some of the abducted passengers, including the RCCG pastor, had been successfully rescued.
“Some of the rescued victims are assisting with useful leads that can help the investigation.
“All routes around the area, including the adjoining forest areas, are being combed.
“Investigation is ongoing. Updates would be provided accordingly,” he said.
