On June 5th, 2022, a Joint Task Force consisting of the Nigerian Army, the Police, NSCDC, the Edo State Community Vigilante Security Network and other security agents completed a three-week operation to flush out kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements from the farms and forests in 11 communities in Ovia North East Local Govt Area of Edo State.
Several kidnapped farmers were freed, kidnappers’ hideouts destroyed and properties were recovered in the process.
