Today, April 2, 2024, Bassirou Diomaye Faye was sworn in as Senegal’s fifth president in a ceremony attended by regional leaders at the new city of Diamniadio, just outside the capital of Dakar. President Faye succeeds Macky Sall, who has completed his constitutionally permitted two terms in office and will now step down.
