The Nigerian Police have released VeryDarkMan, a social media influencer who had been detained on unknown charges. The release came after a public outcry on social media and pressure from Omoyele Sowore.
The release of VeryDarkMan was announced by activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who had been a vocal critic of the influencer’s detention. Adeyanju praised the release as a victory for the rule of law and the power of social media.
Posting the picture of VeryDarkman on his Facebook page, he wrote, “After 5 days of back and forth, we have secured VDM’s release. Thank you to everyone that made this happen especially, SOWORE, Kefiano & VDM’s wonderful lawyers. ????✊”
