Federal Government declares Tuesday, October 19 as public holiday


The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 19, 2021, a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud celebration in commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).


The permanent secretary, Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore, revealed this in a statement on Friday, October 15.


According to the statement posted on the ministry’s Facebook page, the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola, urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love and patience which are virtues of Prophet Muhammad. He further stated that doing so would guarantee peace and security in the country.
