There has been an armed robbery attack on commercial banks in Anyigba, Kogi State. The robbers reportedly struck in the early hours of the morning, causing panic and fear among the local residents.

Eyewitnesses have described a chaotic scene during the robbery, with multiple banks being targeted and random gunfire being heard throughout the town. The incident has sparked fears for the safety of the local population, who have been left reeling from the violent attack.

The robbery began around 5:00 p.m., when the perpetrators stormed the banks and opened fire in order to facilitate their escape after taking an unknown amount of money.

The robbers reportedly engaged in a gun battle with members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

At the time of writing, the state police command has not yet responded to requests for comment on the incident.
