Mother of Late Nigerian Singer, Mohbad, Accuses Ex-Husband of Neglect and Inaction Following Son’s Death

The mother of Nigerian singer, Mohbad, accused her ex-husband of failing to help her son when he was facing health issues, which ultimately led to his death. She expressed her deep frustration and sorrow over her son’s death, and accused her ex-husband of neglecting his responsibilities as a father.

According to the singer’s mother, her ex-husband, Joseph Aloba, failed to hold Primeboy, the primary suspect in the death of her son, accountable. She accused him of choosing to protect the suspect instead of seeking justice for his son.

Mohbad, a 27-year-old Nigerian singer, died under suspicious circumstances on September 12, 2023, prompting intense scrutiny and speculation from the public. The exact cause of death remains a mystery, with the singer’s mother leveling accusations against the primary suspect in the case.

In an exclusive interview with Punch, Abosede alleged that Primeboy, the prime suspect in her son’s death, had been advised to run away by Mohbad’s father. She expressed her anger and frustration at this, feeling that her son’s death was not being taken seriously by those closest to him.

She said, “After Mohbad’s burial, when his father came back home, I asked him where Primeboy was since it was claimed that he’s the one who fought my son. Mohbad’s father said he told Primeboy to run away so that he won’t get arrested because he’s a suspect. I asked him how he could say such a thing.”

In an emotional and impassioned interview, Abosede expressed her fury at those responsible for her son’s death, invoking the biblical story of Judas and calling for the perpetrators to suffer a similar fate. She spoke of how her son had been her protector in the past, recalling how he had stood up to his father when he had threatened her life.

She said: “It was God’s will for Judas to betray Jesus. Judas killed himself, that is the same way my child’s murderers will kill themselves.

“Mohbad was the one who stood by me when his father threatened my life. He would always caution his father, that was in 2021.”
