Govt Offices Shut In Abuja As NLC Strike Begins

Some government ministries, departments, and agencies in Abuja are shut in solidarity with the two-day nationwide strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress, The Punch revealed.

According to reports, houses of some agencies under the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, were deserted as workers decided to stay back home.

Banks located in the areas surveyed were also under lock and key.

NLC officials who stormed one of the banks in the area ‘Jaiz Bank’ to enfore compliance with the NLC strike directive ordered the bankers to return home.

“Please go home, shut down your systems, we are locking the bank,” the NLC officials ordered the bank staff.
