A raging fire has gutted the warehouse of a bottling company on Sapara Street, off Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, shared on the agency’s Twitter page on Sunday.
The fire service said, “Fire Alert! A Fire has emerged at a company warehouse on Sapara Street, off Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja where Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is battling to contain it.
“The fire which was reported at 08:58 hours Sunday involved finished distilled volatile products, which are ethanol in chemical compound and stored in combustible bottles within a large expanse warehouse block is being curtailed by Lagos Fire Crews from Ikeja, Alausa and Bolade with an assurance of not spreading beyond the precinct of the store.
“The ongoing firefighting operations is devoid of any casualty thus far with an update to follow.”
