Wanted Delta Monarch Cries Out, Claims Innocence in Killing of 17 Soldiers

The traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom in Delta state spoke out about being declared wanted by authorities over the killing of 17 soldiers. The monarch claims he is innocent of any involvement in the killings.

The traditional ruler expressed shock and dismay at seeing himself named as a wanted suspect in the news. He pointed out that the Delta state government was not made aware of his supposed involvement, and expressed concern that he was being wrongly accused. He stated that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

The tragic death of 17 soldiers in Okuama led to the identification of seven suspects, including the traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom. The funeral for the fallen soldiers was held on Wednesday at the national cemetery in Abuja, followed by a declaration of the suspects as wanted.
