The Young Workers Training Alumni Network (YWTAN), in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), has officially announced the launch of a new podcast titled Voices of Workers (VOW).
This initiative seeks to amplify the stories, challenges, and victories of workers and trade unions across Nigeria.
According to a statement from the organizers, “We are excited to announce the launch of our new podcast, Voices of Workers, brought to you by the @FES YWTAN Young Workers Training Alumni Network (YWTAN).”
Anchored by Juwon Sanyaolu and Ọmọlọlá Pedro, Voices of Workers promises to take listeners deep into the Nigerian labour movement, engaging with key issues, historical milestones, and personal stories that define the trade union space.
“In this podcast, we will explore the world of trade unions and labor movements in Nigeria, discussing the challenges, successes, and stories that shape the lives of workers and the labor landscape,” the organizers added.
The first episode, expected to drop soon, will delve into the history of trade unions in Nigeria. It will feature insights from experts and prominent activists, including veteran labour leader, Comrade Owei Lakemfa.
Listeners are encouraged to join the conversation and stay connected through behind-the-scenes content, updates, and sneak previews of upcoming episodes.
The launch is being celebrated with hashtags such as #TradeUnions, #FriedrichEbertStiftung, #FES100, #YouthLeadership, and #YouthofNigeria.
