Veteran Yoruba actor Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has accused Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, of reneging on financial promises made to entertainers who campaigned for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking on the Beyond the Fame podcast, Lalude alleged that he and several colleagues were promised ₦1.5 million each by MC Oluomo in exchange for their involvement in the high-profile campaign efforts. However, according to him, the promise was never fulfilled.
The actor, renowned for his portrayal of traditional priests in Yoruba films, said they campaigned for over seven weeks, often on foot, while MC Oluomo followed in his vehicle. Initially, they were given ₦10,000 daily for feeding, but even that stopped without explanation.
“We were abandoned after everything,” Lalude lamented. “MC Oluomo personally promised me and Alapini ₦1.5 million each. He even asked us to name our price. We completed the assignment, but we weren’t paid a kobo.”
He added that they were lodged in a specific location solely to carry out the campaign and expressed anger over the lack of appreciation or follow-through. “Whoever is responsible for this betrayal will not succeed. They’ll come to us again in 2027 — let them try.”
Lalude’s claims follow similar public complaints from other Nollywood veterans such as Ganiu ‘Alapini’ Nafiu and Bukky Adekogbe Raji, popularly known as Aminatu Papapa. Both actors have recently expressed regret over supporting Tinubu’s campaign.
