VIDEO: Mild Drama In Court As DSS And Nigerian Correctional Service Officials Fights Over The Custody Of Emefiele

A video has emerged online where the operatives of the Department of State Services, and the officials of Nigeria Correctional Service tussled over the custody of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, within the Lagos state high court premises.

PurpleWorld had earlier reported that Emefiele on Tuesday was arraigned by the Federal Ministry of Justice, for alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition but was granted bail in the sum of N20m with one surety, following his “not guilty” plea.

According to Punch, the tussle began while the defendant’s lawyers were trying to perfect his bail conditions, the DSS and NCS operatives argued and charged against one another for who would keep the suspended governor within the court premises.

In the video, the two government agencies could be seen dragging themselves and security dogs into the court premises.

Sources said there are moves by the DSS to rearrest Emefiele despite the bail granted to him by the court.
