The Uzbekistan national football team has been rewarded with brand-new cars after securing their first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
The historic feat, which marks Uzbekistan’s debut at the 2026 edition of the tournament, was met with immediate celebration back home.
According to a report by Sport Brila FM on Wednesday, the players were gifted the vehicles right after confirming their qualification, without any prior promise or negotiation.
“The Uzbekistan national team players were gifted cars after securing their first-ever qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Not promised!! The cars were given immediately!! No be chochochocho!!!” the radio station posted, emphasizing the prompt and generous nature of the gesture.
The celebratory ceremony took place after the team returned from the UAE, where they played a goalless draw in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match. That single point clinched Uzbekistan’s first-ever qualification for the World Cup finals.
During the event, players received BYD vehicles—a brand from the Chinese manufacturer, which opened a factory in Uzbekistan in 2024.
Furthermore, the President signed a decree awarding several players and coaching staff with honorary titles, along with state orders and medals in recognition of their achievement.
As a reminder, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted jointly by the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
