Residents of the Ota-Ona area in Ikorodu, Lagos State, have been thrown into panic on Monday afternoon after an unfinished two-storey building suddenly collapsed.
The tragic incident occurred without warning, sending shockwaves through the community and drawing the immediate attention of emergency responders.
As of the time of filing this report, five victims have been pulled out alive from the debris. However, uncertainty looms as the number of individuals still trapped remains unknown.
Emergency response teams are currently at the scene, working tirelessly to comb through the wreckage in search of survivors. The area has since been cordoned off to allow for rescue operations and to ensure public safety.
