The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the loss of eight lives and the injury of 15 others as a result of a deadly bomb explosion that occurred in Gwoza Local Government Area. This tragic event marks yet another instance of violence and loss of life in a state already plagued by ongoing insecurity and insurgency.

The authorities confirmed the unfortunate incident in a statement released by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the Police Public Relations Officer, who revealed that the blast took place at 15:40 hours.

A woman carrying a baby unleashed a deadly Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a bustling motor park in Mararaba T. Junction, Gwoza town, leaving behind a trail of destruction and sorrow. This inhumane act, seemingly carried out with no regard for human life, has left both eyewitnesses and officials alike shocked and saddened.

As the chaos of the bombing subsided, the grim reality of its aftermath came into view. Among the dead were the female bomber and her defenseless infant, along with six other innocent souls, whose lives were senselessly taken in the blink of an eye. Fifteen more individuals who were left injured in the wake of the explosion have been transported to General Hospital Gwoza.
