Tinubu Has Better Chances of Winning Re-election Than He Had When He First Contested, by Oluwaseyi Oyetunbi

No politician I know of in Nigeria today plays politics like Tinubu does. Without rigging, in a free and fair election, Tinubu might struggle but he would still emerge victorious. Perhaps, if it were to be a clime where people understand governance, and know what their problems are then I would say Sowore…

One thing Tinubu does that no politician is doing is that he is interested in his enemies more. The only ‘politician’ of relevance that hasn’t worked for Tinubu, and whose principles will not allow him exist in the same sentence with Tinubu is Sowore. Inspite of the fact that Tinubu knows Sowore doesn’t shift his ground, we all still saw that Tinubu made an attempt to interact with Sowore during a public function in 2022. Every below 60 presidential aspirant of 2019 is now working not as minister but as SA for Tinubu today. What happens to the agenda of ‘not too young to run!’

I tell people Peter Obi might be on Tinubu’s payroll, I am happy that Dele Momodu said that Peter Obi is working for Tinubu in the recent interview he granted. Except you look at politics on the surface, there’s no political formula to substantiate Obi winning in a presidential election. Peter Obi is not popular outside South East and South South, honestly. The vote he got in Abuja and Lagos were votes of sleepy-woke youths who were unsure about the change we need and majorly the Igbos who wouldn’t mind voting for Evans the kidnapper for the Igbo must rule agenda.
Tinubu needs Peter Obi to win election. It’s a game over for Tinubu if Peter Obi team up with Atiku because out of the three faces on the frontline, only Peter Obi has the ethnicity wheel to ride on during election. One would wonder why Peter Obi decided not to team up with Atiku when he knows he can’t win and has nothing to lose being a vice president to Atiku whom he believes so much in. If you think Peter is really running and working so hard to rescue Nigeria, you should wake up and think of how unbothered he became post-election.

Another man working behind closed door for Tinubu is Obasanjo. You must think Obasanjo hates Tinubu to believe he would be working for Obi who he knew had no chance of even becoming Biafra president if Nigeria disintegrates. It’s easy to forgive everything but not betrayal. Obasanjo feels Atiku betrayed him, in one of his books, I think My Watch, he swore to not witness Atiku becoming Nigerian president. 70percent vote that Obi got would have easily gone to Atiku if Obi didn’t contest or ran on the same ticket with Atiku. But then some persons, a very tiny group of people actually determines who gets what, when and how.

Tinubu is currently focusing on the East now, he’s given their warlord’s wife a political appointment, he’s doing some major infrastructures in the East, he’s working to move with the structure Obi has in the East so that Peter can do the hard job he’s paid for to split any Northern candidate’s votes.

Tinubu might be incoherent, obviously lacking the physical stamina expected of a president leading a struggling country like ours, he might also lack the political will to improve things. But that man’s head is correct and able to calculate how to hold that seat for another round of 4years.

Tinubu is not a great president. But that man called Tinubu is a good politician — with strategies that are not so good but not all bad.

This is completely true, the issue with many of our youths is that we thing we can run politics or take over with emotions, but it’s not done that way .
