Commuters aboard an 18-passenger commercial bus in Ondo State have been confronted by heavily armed terrorists, who abducted several passengers and fled the scene.

The commuters, traveling along the Irun/Imesi Ekiti Road were caught in the crosshairs of a harrowing ambush on Saturday evening. The armed bandits descended on their vehicle and dragged several passengers into the bush.

The severity of the kidnapping incident was confirmed by Adetunji Adeleye, the commander of Amotekun corps, who revealed that security personnel had already embarked on a manhunt for the culprits in the forested area.

Speaking to reporters, Adeleye indicated that while the exact number of passengers abducted by the hoodlums remains unknown, some victims managed to flee from their captors and make it to safety.

“My men and soldiers from Ekiti are combing the forest but the hoodlums did not kidnap the whole 18 passengers in the bus.

“Some of the passengers escaped themselves, while our men with soldiers, recovered some of the victims in the night. Our men have combed the forest as we speak.”, he said.
