In July 2025, two seminarians were kidnapped at the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary in Ivhianakpodi, Auchi. A Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer was killed during the attack. Even though ransom was reportedly paid by the Catholic Church, the two victims have still not been released.
