Suspected thief found hiding in bank ceiling after alleged overnight attempt to hack systems

There was commotion at an FCMB branch in Lagos after a suspected thief was discovered hiding in the bank’s ceiling, reportedly attempting to interfere with internal systems overnight.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man had entered the bank during regular business hours and discreetly locked himself inside one of the restrooms.

From there, he allegedly climbed into the ceiling and remained concealed until the bank closed for the day.

The following morning, staff members arriving for work noticed that a door within the premises was oddly locked from the inside.

Upon forcing it open, they were stunned to find the intruder inside, appearing to tamper with computer systems. Some monitors reportedly displayed strange prompts, including messages such as “restarting, click ok to accept.”

Footage of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the suspect pleading for mercy and insisting he acted alone.

While FCMB has yet to release an official statement regarding the breach, several videos from the scene show the man being apprehended and roughly handled by security personnel.
