Human rights activist and #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, has compared the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Daniel Olukoya, to the notorious Reverend King who was convicted of murdering his church members.

Sowore’s call for Olukoya’s arrest is on the basis of alleged crimes against humanity, insisting that the similarities between the two religious leaders are striking and cannot be ignored.

Emboldened by his determination to bring justice, Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, demanded that the Nigerian Police take immediate action against the perpetrators of the alleged crimes linked to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry’s General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya. Sowore demands that all police officers complicit in the atrocities should be brought to book.

Earlier this week, the activist has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Olukoya, after a damning revelation that the religious leader allegedly influenced the unlawful detention of a pastor for a staggering nine years without trial.

Emerging from a harrowing nine-year prison ordeal, Pastor Femi Jimoh, formerly affiliated with the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, has courageously stepped forward to expose the alleged role of his former church in his unlawful imprisonment. Jimoh, who claims to have been unjustly detained for an alleged armed robbery, has accused the religious institution of influencing his arrest and detention, highlighting the sinister implications of corruption and abuse of power within the Church.

Speaking out on Yoruba Gidi TV, the pastor alleged that his downward spiral began with a chance encounter with the Chief Security Officer of Pastor Daniel Olukoya at a native doctor’s home.

The harrowing account of Pastor Femi Jimoh continues to unveil a distressing tale of alleged cruelty and injustice at the hands of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry. Jimoh recounts how he was subjected to brutal beatings and handcuffed while a Divisional Police Officer inflicted a gunshot wound to his leg, marking the start of his ordeal. Adding to the pastor’s anguish, he reveals that his family members, including his mother and sister, pleaded for mercy on his behalf before the MFM’s General Overseer, Pastor Daniel Olukoya, who reportedly demanded that Jimoh plead guilty in court for his release.

The call for justice by activist Omoyele Sowore resounded through social media as he took to his X account, formerly Twitter, to demand accountability from the Nigerian Police. Sowore fiercely demanded that law enforcement must investigate and apprehend every police officer involved in the disturbing crimes allegedly orchestrated by the acclaimed religious leader, Pastor Daniel Olukoya.

He wrote: “The @PoliceNG must arrest @REAL_DKOLUKOYA the General Overseer of @MFMWorldwide immediately, it must also fish out all the policemen and women involved in these egregious crimes against humanity NOW! #ENDSARS.

“Pastor D.K Olukoya is not different from Reverend King!”
