Rivers State Sole Administrator Summons Suspended Governor Fubara, Deputy

Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, CFR, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The summons, announced in a special statement on Tuesday and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, is part of an official inquiry into appointments made during Fubara’s two-year administration.

According to the announcement, Governor Fubara has been instructed to submit comprehensive documentation of all appointments made during his time in office, including the justification and selection processes behind those decisions.

In addition to clarifying his appointment record, the suspended governor is also expected to present a formal explanation outlining why he believes he should be reinstated to office.

The inquiry session is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Rivers State Government House. Both Fubara and his deputy are required to appear in person, with the notice making it clear that attendance is mandatory.

The Sole Administrator described the move as part of a broader initiative aimed at restoring “transparency, accountability, and lasting peace” in the governance of Rivers State, following months of political turmoil.
