The National Broadcasting Academy (NBA), located at 1, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, Ikeja, Lagos, has officially announced the commencement of the 2025 Batch B Basic Courses with an opening ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, 23rd July 2025.
This is in line with a notice released by the Office of the Registrar on Monday, 21st July, 2025.
According to the notice signed by Mrs. Chibuikem E.A., the Registrar, the event will take place at Christopher Kolade Hall and is slated to begin at 1:00 PM prompt. The management has emphasized that attendance is compulsory for all students, underlining the importance of the program as the formal beginning of the academic journey for Batch B students.
The notice was directed to all staff and students and copied to key administrative officers including the Director (NBA), Director of Academic Planning, Bursar, all Heads of Departments (HODs), and the Senior Warden.
In the notice titled “NOTICE! NOTICE!! NOTICE!!!”, the Registrar stated:
“I am directed to inform you that the Opening Ceremony for Batch B basic courses holds as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025
Venue: Christopher Kolade Hall
Time: 1pm Prompt
Please, note that attendance is compulsory for all students.”
In further support of the directive, Enyubala Success, a student representative (Class Governor) from the Journalism Department, also issued a reminder to fellow colleagues via departmental communication. She stated:
“Good evening, colleagues. Let’s not forget this. We’re required to cover the event and write a news story on it. Please ensure to be in class as Mr. Alikwe will be engaging us in class before the event. Meanwhile, please go through his textbook or note to acquaint yourself with some knowledge. See you tomorrow!”
The National Broadcasting Academy (NBA), formerly the FRCN Training School, was established in 1957 to provide in-house training for Radio Nigeria staff. Over the years, it has grown into Nigeria’s foremost broadcast training institution, opening its doors to professionals and aspiring broadcasters from within and outside the country.
