President Bola Tinubu warmly received Senegal’s youthful President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

While the specific details of the meeting were not publicly disclosed, it was reported that President Tinubu and President Faye engaged in discussions centered around aligning their countries’ goals and structures.
Accompanied by pipers from the military band, Faye was escorted to the president’s office at around 3pm for the confidential discussions.

Faye, who was sworn into office on April 2, 2024, made his visit to Nigeria just a few weeks after his inauguration. While the specific purpose of the meeting between the two presidents has not been disclosed, it is likely that the leaders discussed regional cooperation and shared challenges, as well as opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties between their countries.
