Pregnant Woman Protests in Akure Over Missing Amotekun Officer Husband

A pregnant woman has held a lone protest in Akure, Ondo State, over the disappearance of her husband, Victor Temitope Akinsipe, an operative of the Amotekun Corps.

In a video circulating online, the woman was seen weeping and holding a placard at the Igbatoro Road Roundabout, a location that leads to both the Amotekun Corps Headquarters and the Ondo State Governor’s Office.

She called on Nigerians and the state government to help find her husband, who has been missing for about a week.

According to her, Akinsipe left home after receiving a call from the Amotekun Corps, inviting him and some other officers to a “peaceful meeting” at the Senior Staff Club in Akure.

She explained that the meeting was said to be about officers demanding official appointment letters from the state government.

“My husband told me the Commandant called them for a meeting to settle the issue of appointment letters. He left home that day and since then, I haven’t seen or heard from him,” she said tearfully.

As of the time of this report, the Amotekun Corps has not issued any statement regarding his disappearance.
