According to Dr Yunusa Tanko, the chief spokesperson for the Obi/Datti campaign committee, the claimed audio clip between Peter Obi and Bishop Oyedepo was played at mosques in northern Nigeria.
As he elaborates on the audio clip in which Obi is claimed to have said that the 2023 election is a holy war, he made this known in a tweet. In an effort to spread the recording in the north, Peter Obi’s remarks on it, according to Yunusa Tanko, were allegedly translated into various languages. He added that Muslim clerics used the tape to deliver lectures in mosques.
In part of his tweet, he writes; “Despite the public denunciation of the fake audio call, it’s contents have been translated to other Nigerian languages and circulated in most parts of Northern Nigeria with some of our Moslem clertixs deceived and instigated to use the contents for their sermons at various Mosques during the usual Friday prayers.”
