Pastor Adeboye Apologizes for Misleading ‘Tithing for Heaven’ Statement

241

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church, has apologized for his statement claiming that paying tithe was necessary for Christians to go to heaven.

Recognizing the inaccuracy of his words, Adeboye expressed remorse and clarified that this belief is not supported by the Bible. Instead, he emphasized the importance of following peace with all men and holiness as essential for one’s spiritual journey.

Speaking to members of his congregation in a video that has now gone viral, he wrote:

“I apologize for saying ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God’
