Popular human rights activist and founder of Saharareporters, Omoyele Sowore has rejected refund for the cancelled town hall event. He declared that the meeting will go ahead even if it means the king’s palace will serve as the new venue.
Sowore made this known on his official Facebook page. He wrote, “Deji of Akure’s palace reached out to me that they want to refund my Townhall meeting “Akure hall”deposit, I am refusing, if the hall is not available we will use Deji’s palace for #AkeredoluMustResign Townhall Meeting on Saturday!”
This happened after the Department of State Service (DSS) reportedly ordered the King of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade to refund Sowore’s fee.
The town hall meeting was aimed at discussing crucial matters affecting Ondo state, especially the issue of the sick Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu.
