Ogun Woman Arrested for Allegedly Inserting Firewood into 12-Year-Old Girl’s Private Part Over Alleged Theft

The Ogun State Police Command has reported the arrest of a 25-year-old woman, Temitope Adetanju, for allegedly subjecting a 12-year-old girl to brutal abuse involving the insertion of a piece of firewood into her private part as punishment for an alleged theft.

Reports indicate that the 12-year-old victim was accused of stealing a modest quantity of biscuits worth N200, a small pack of Milo beverage worth N150, and fruit juice worth N300

Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, revealed that the alleged abuse occurred around 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024. According to her statement, the Divisional Police Officer in Obada-Oko immediately responded to the incident and promptly arrested the suspect, Temitope Adetanju, for the alleged crime.

“On June 13, 2024, Temitope Adetanju, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested by the DPO in Obada-Oko, Ogun State, for allegedly inserting a sizable piece of firewood into the private part of a 12-year-old girl, accusing her of stealing a biscuit worth N200, Milo worth N150, and Mr. Fruit worth N300,” the statement reads.

In the wake of the heinous incident, officers from the Juvenile Welfare Centre were swiftly dispatched to apprehend Temitope Adetanju. During the subsequent investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed to her actions, thus implicating herself in the alleged abuse of the 12-year-old girl.
