Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has officially renamed Tai Solarin College of Education as the Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Science and Technology, in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON.
Governor Abiodun made the announcement during the 8th Day Fidau prayer held in memory of the revered monarch, who passed away recently.
The governor said the decision was aimed at immortalizing Oba Adetona’s legacy, describing him as a royal father whose life was dedicated to the advancement of education, good governance, and national development.
According to Abiodun, the late Awujale’s name will continue to inspire future generations, and the renamed institution will stand as a symbol of his visionary leadership and commitment to the progress of Ijebuland and Nigeria at large.
