NLC Postpones Nationwide Protest and Extends Ultimatum to Federal Government

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced the suspension of its two-day nationwide protest. The decision was made on Tuesday evening, following negotiations with the Federal Government.

In a press release issued after the National Executive Council meeting, the NLC stated that the first day of the protest had met its objectives. The NLC went on to say that the protest was suspended in light of these accomplishments, and that further dialogue would take place with the Federal Government.

The communique partly read: “Consequently, NEC-in-session resolved as follows: to suspend street action for the second day of the Protest having achieved overwhelming success thus attained the key objectives of the 2-day protest on the first day.”
