NIGERIAN POLITICIANS IN ONE PARTY, SAYS OONI, BEGINS SEVEN-DAY SECLUSION

THE Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Sunday said he would be using the next seven days of his seclusion for Olojo Festival to pray for change in attitude for politicians in the country.

This was just as he noted that there was only one political party in the country with the same value, same character, and same set of politicians.

The royal father, who spoke in his palace before proceeding to Ilofi, where he would be spending the next seven days in seclusion to kick-start rites for this year’s edition of Olojo Festival, said his prayers would be centred on change of attitude for politicians in the country to stop playing with the lives of the people they claimed to serve.

Oba Ogunwusi also said the time had come for politicians to realize that they should serve Nigerians genuinely, as the country must not be allowed to further drift along the present direction.

He said, “I will go again to seclusion and pray to God to touch heart of our politicians for them to stop playing all of us like ludo.

“They should be more sensitive about people because as it is now, we have just one political party in Nigeria. Our politicians are just crisscrossing in order to retain their positions.

“We have one political party in this country, same value, same character, and same set of politicians. But I am going to go into seclusion and pray to God to touch their hearts, for them to stop playing games with the lives of citizens of this country.”
The Olojo Festival would climax with the Ooni adorning ‘Are’ crown and symbolic visit to Ogun Shrine.
