Twelve members of a syndicate allegedly involved in the production of fake dollar notes have been arrested between Bajoga and the Duku axis of Gombe State.
The Gombe Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mahid Abubakar on Thursday said the syndicate specialised in printing and disposing of counterfeit currencies, PurpleWorld learnt.
According to Saharareporters, 563 pieces of counterfeit 100 dollar bills and N265,000 were recovered from the suspects by the police operatives.
Reports further revealed that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
However, police urged residents of the state to be more vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities to security agencies.
