The Nigerian government has announced plans to launch its first citizen into space.
Dr. Mathew Adepoju, Director General of NASRDA, disclosed this in a major development plan, during a press conference in Abuja.
Adepoju announced that the Nigerian government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Space Exploration and Research Agency. With NASRDA partnering with the agency, the country is now poised to make history and chart a new course in the realm of space exploration.
During the press conference, Dr. Mathew Adepoju expressed the gravity of the historic moment for Nigeria, noting that the partnership between the Nigerian government and the Space Exploration and Research Agency was a significant milestone in the country’s 25-year journey in space exploration. This collaboration, he stated, promises to pave the way for groundbreaking scientific research and technological breakthroughs, elevating Nigeria’s status as a pioneering force in the field of space technology.
