In an attempt to resolve ongoing labor-related issues, the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially invited the leaders of the country’s two largest labor unions, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), for a high-level meeting at the Aso Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

A source close to the labor leadership, who preferred to remain anonymous,  revealed to PurpleWorld that the government has invited the NLC and TUC for a meeting at the Aso Villa on Thursday.

The primary agenda of the meeting, according to the source, is to discuss and possibly reach an agreement on a new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

The anonymous source further stated that President Bola Tinubu has taken a proactive step towards resolving the minimum wage negotiations.
