Outrage and demands for a ban have erupted following the revelation of an unreleased movie that depicts a bank robbery carried out by actresses wearing niqabs.

The film’s controversial plot, which features women in full face coverings committing a crime, has sparked heated debates within Nigerian society.

In response to the public outcry, the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has issued a statement addressing the situation.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) called on the NFVCB to ban the controversial film, which it described as “s@tanic”.

Reacting to the calls in a statement, NFVCB disclosed that the film is still in production and has not been submitted for classification.
