The National Broadcast Academy, NBA, has announced the retirement of Mr. Ayedun L. Ayinla, a respected lecturer and seasoned broadcaster, who has concluded his service with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN.
In a post shared on its official Facebook page on Thursday morning, the Academy described the event as a “double celebration,” as Ayinla’s retirement coincides with his 60th birthday.
The statement read:
“Mr. Aiyedun L. Ayinla bows out of service. A double celebration: Retirement from FRCN & 60th birthday. We celebrate Mr. Aiyedun L. Ayinla as he bows out of active service from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), marking the end of a remarkable and impactful career.
“This joyous occasion is made even more special as it coincides with his 60th birthday — a double celebration of dedication and a life well lived. We wish him a fulfilling and successful life after retirement, filled with good health, happiness, and continued accomplishments.”
Reacting to the announcement, Success Enyubala, an alumna of the Academy who concluded her Basic journalism programme in August and served as class governor, described Mr. Ayinla as a disciplinarian and an exceptional teacher.
“He is a sociable fellow, quite the disciplinarian. A lecturer who knows his onion and has a very unique teaching style that helps with comprehension of the topic being taught,” she said.
Asmau Kiki, another former student, also congratulated him, writing: “Congratulations once again, sir. He was my lecturer in 2021. Wishing you many more years to celebrate, sir. Ameen, Ameen. — Asmau, Sokoto.”
Mr. Ayedun is widely regarded as a disciplinarian, well known for his outspokenness and unwavering dedication to his work.
Mr. Ayinla’s retirement is being received with warm tributes from colleagues, students, and alumni who praised his decades of contribution to broadcasting education and his positive impact on the profession.
