Lagos State Government Bans Street Trading and Hawking

The Lagos State Government has urged traders to refrain from selling their goods on the side of the road, in front of buildings, or on any other areas that could obstruct traffic or pedestrian movement. It has also advised traders to use approved markets and trading spaces provided by the government, to ensure the safety of all road users.

The Lagos State Government issued this reminder via its official social media account on Sunday.

The post read, “Lagos traders should desist from displaying their wares for sale on walkways, lay-bys, setbacks, road medians, verges, and curbs because street trading and hawking remain banned in Lagos State.”
