A gas explosion occurred at a market at Council Bus-Stop in the Idimu region of Lagos State on Saturday, resulting in the destruction of several commodities.
According to Objectv Media, seven lock-up shops were razed in the inferno. Some vehicles parked in a mechanic workshop close to the shops were also destroyed by the fire.
In a statement, Margaret Adeseye, the director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, stated that the emergency call was made at 2:00 p.m. and that the fire originated from a gas cylinder leak at one of the stores, which caused an explosion that spread to several other establishments.

It also revealed that the fire was under control and that attempts were underway to put out any pockets of flame that could persist.
