Movement came to a standstill early Saturday morning at the Berger axis of Lagos as police and other security personnel barricaded major entry points into the city ahead of the local government elections.
According to PUNCH, commuters reported that both vehicular and pedestrian traffic were halted, causing widespread confusion and delays.
By 7:32am, dozens of vehicles had been turned back, and many passengers were left stranded, unable to continue their journeys into Lagos.
Security operatives were seen manning key checkpoints, enforcing movement restrictions tied to the electoral process. The barricade, set up at one of the city’s busiest gateways, led to significant traffic buildup and frustration among road users.
